يرى محمد بركات، نجم الأهلي السابق، أن الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بالقلعة الحمراء يحتاج إلى تدعيمات ويعاني من مشاكل.

وقال محمد بركات عبر برنامج “يا مساء الأنوار” على قناة “إم بي سي مصر 2”: “الأهلي لديه مشكلة دفاعية يجب حلها، فقد خرج من الفريق محمد عبد المنعم وهو لاعب كبير جدًا، ونفس الأمر بالنسبة لـ رامي ربيعة، كما كان لدينا لاعب مهم في المنظومة الدفاعية في وسط الملعب مثل أكرم توفيق”.

وواصل: “ليس لدي مشكلة في الجانب الهجومي، فاللاعبين إذا لعبوا برجولة وروح وقلب وجدية أكثر فلن تكون هناك أي مشاكل معهم”.

وأكمل: “إذا ضغط كل لاعب على نفسه فلن تكون هناك مشكلة نهائيًا، لكن ما يشغلني هو الجانب الدفاعي”.

واستطرد: “الأهلي نادٍ كبير جدًا، والأرقام تتحدث عن نفسها، فقد دخل مرماه 13 هدفًا في 11 مباراة، ليصبح سادس أضعف دفاع في الدوري من بين 21 فريقًا، في حين أن فاركو والمقاولون العرب لم يدخل مرماهما 13 هدفًا”.

واسترسل: “يجب على توروب أن يعمل على المنظومة الدفاعية للأهلي بالكامل، فالفريق يحتاج إلى تدعيم في يناير بمدافع، وظهير أيسر، ومهاجم”.

وفاجأ كلوب بروج برشلونة بالهدف الأول عن طريق تريسولدي في الدقيقة السابعة، بعد أن تلقى تمريرة من زميله فوربس، وتعادل برشلونة بعدها بدقيقتين عن طريق فيران توريس بعد أن سدد كرة قوية في الشباك حيث تلقى تمريرة رائعة من فيرمين لوبيز في الدقيقة التاسعة.

وسدد فيرمين تسديدة مرت بجوار القائم الأيسر في الدقيقة الثانية عشر، وحاول راشفورد بتسديدة أخرى مرت فوق القائم في الدقيقة 13، وفي الدقيقة 18 أضاف كلوب بروج الهدف الثاني عن طريق فوربس، والذي انفرد بمرمى تشيزني بعد تلقيه تمريرة من أحد زملائه.

وعاد راشفورد بمحاولة أخرى لصالح برشلونة لكن تسديدته مرت بجوار القائم الأيسر في الدقيقة 26، وتصدى القائم لتسديدة قوية من كوندي في الدقيقة 27، وتصدى حارس كلوب بروج لتسديدة راشفورد في الدقيقة 38.

وفي الدقيقة 77 أحرز برشلونة هدف التعادل بعد عرضية من لامين يامال اصطدمت بمدافع كلوب بروج تزوليس وتذهب بالخطأ إلى مرماه، بينما ألغى الحكم هدفًا لصالح كلوب بروج في الدقيقة 92 بداعي خطأ ضد تشيزني حارس مرمى برشلونة.

West Ham dealt Fullkrug injury blow as striker problems worsen

Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann confirmed that Fullkrug has suffered a thigh injury when asked why the striker wasn’t called up to face Luxembourg and Wales.

Kicker have since reported that the 32-year-old faces “several weeks” on the sidelines as a result, dealing a major blow to Nuno, who now has just Callum Wilson and youngster Callum Marshall to call upon over the next few games.

West Ham will now have to rely on the inexperience of Marshall or pray that Wilson maintains his own fitness, with the latter also very prone to injury himself.

Fullkrug’s latest injury heaps pressure on West Ham’s creative players, like Lucas Paqueta, Crysencio Summerville and Jarrod Bowen, to compensate for the absence of a focal point up front.

The ex-Borussia Dortmund man was forced to sit out 28 games for West Ham and Germany combined last season as a result of achilles tendon problems and a hamstring injury.

Questions have understandably been asked about the club’s decision to fork out £27 million for an injury-prone striker past his prime, with Nuno and West Ham’s recruitment team now tasked to pick up the pieces.

West Ham’s main objective for the winter window is to sign a striker, according to reports, and this will come as music to the ears of Hammers supporters as their side are tipped to battle against relegation.

January could be vital when it comes to rescuing Nuno from his centre-forward conundrum. Man United striker Josh Zirkzee is already being linked with a move to West Ham, as the East Londoners scramble to assess realistic moves for available number nines mid-season.

There is also the free agent market to consider as an emergency solution, with ex-Watford and Nottingham Forest striker Emmanuel Dennis apparently emerging as an option.

Agent pushing Emmanuel Dennis towards West Ham

The 27-year-old terminated his Forest deal by mutual consent in August and has been readily available for hire ever since, with The Athletic reporting all the way back in 2022 that West Ham held talks over signing Dennis for ex-boss David Moyes.

Now, as per Hammers News, the Nigerian is being offered out to West Ham again.

It is believed that an agent is actively pushing Dennis towards West Ham, but as things stand, the club aren’t really biting.

Despite a stellar 21/22 at Watford, where he bagged 10 goals and six assists in 33 Premier League appearances, the Nigerian really hasn’t done much since then.

He actually plied his trade at Forest and during Nuno’s tenure, but scored just two league goals in his debut season before being shipped out on loan to Istanbul Basaksehir, Watford and Blackburn Rovers until he was released.

Once called a “beast” by members of the media, Dennis hasn’t made a significant impact for quite some time, and signing the attacker hardly seems like an adept solution to West Ham’s striker crisis, even if it would be at zero cost.

He did enjoy a brief purple during his second spell at Watford, with former interim boss Tom Cleverley hailing Dennis’ “explosive” style after he scored three times in five starts back at Vicarage Road in 2024, but he managed just one goal thereafter.

After they were placed into administration last Friday, Sheffield Wednesday have now received contact from American billionaire John Textor about buying the club.

The Owls knew the inevitable was coming for some time and it speaks volumes that many around the club will be relieved to be in administration rather than under the ownership of Dejphon Chansiri. His decade-long ownership has finally come to an end following a period in which staff and players went unpaid on a number of occasions.

Whilst there may be some light at the end of the tunnel off the pitch, however, Sheffield Wednesday have suffered on it. Henrik Pedersen’s side have been dealt an automatic 12-point deduction which has left them on -6 points and an impossible battle to stay up in the Championship.

Many have had their say on the consequences that they’ve been handed by the EFL, including Gary Lineker. The former Match of the Day host told The Rest is Football podcast: “They have gone into administration, obviously, and hopefully they can sort it all out. But they have got the 12-point penalty and are now on -6.

“I understand why clubs have to suffer repercussions, but I just think it’s like kicking a club when it’s down and at its lowest. We have had this with other clubs, and it just doesn’t sit well. It’s almost like the fans take the punishment.”

Julian Pitts, Kris Wigfield, Paul Stanley and Begbies Traynor have been appointed joint-administrators and are tasked with finding a suitable buyer for the club, with the EFL ready to relax their 21-day insolvency guideline to fast-track any potential sale.

John Textor makes contact with Sheffield Wednesday

According to reporter Alan Myers, Textor has now made contact with Sheffield Wednesday and their administrators about a potential deal to buy the club.

The American billionaire has also been linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers and it’s clear that he’s looking to invest in English football after selling his Crystal Palace shares in the summer.

That said, Sheffield Wednesday should proceed with caution. Having only just ended a toxic relationship with Chansiri, the last thing they need is another difficult ownership.

Textor stole the headlines when he resigned from his leadership position at Lyon after they were relegated to Ligue 2 amid financial problems. Although they have now been reinstated to France’s top flight and Textor remains a shareholder from afar, his day-to-day role received major protest from fans.

A repeat at Sheffield Wednesday is not guaranteed, but the Owls must ensure that Textor is right for them if they are to add themselves to his portfolio of clubs.

Two days before the third Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy Test at Lord’s, India batting coach Sitanshu Kotak spoke about this side of Pant while talking about how much of a thinker of batting he is. Kotak was asked how important it was for batting partners to not talk to Pant. “Rishabh actually talks a lot about what he does, when he does [it], why he does [it],” Kotak said. “To me, he’s spoken, but he’s someone who doesn’t like talking too much during his innings because he feels that that changes his mindset, and he takes the wrong decision. The moves Pant makes might look random, but Kotak suggested there is thought and planning behind each of them. Kotak was happy to have a maverick such as Pant in the line-up but generally insisted on the batters not being too eager to score runs, which might have become a habit after playing – as India have done – on extremely bowling-friendly pitches in the last few years.”If a batter thinks there is a lot of movement in the pitch, and if there is [half] an opportunity I have to score boundaries because there is a good ball coming [anyway], that is a bad mindset for red-ball cricket,” Kotak said. “Anyway, they possess so much skill because of white-ball cricket that they can convert anything in the slot into fours and sixes. They don’t have to really think that I want to hit a boundary.”Kotak insisted that this was not an instruction imparted after the first-Test defeat at Headingley but his general philosophy before the start of the series. “We have batted well in both the matches,” Kotak said. “I feel we have such skilful batters [who] can score at four an over without going searching for runs. What else is aggressive batting? We are scoring 360 in 90 overs. But our mindset now is to not go looking for boundaries.”That is not necessarily good news for England because they relied on getting batters caught on the boundary to make their way back into the match during both of India’s innings at Headingley. In the second Test at Edgbaston, captain Shubman Gill led by example and refused to be content with a big score and play a casual shot. He aggregated 430 runs in the match to bat England out of the game.
